Last Day!

You can't see it very well but that's a picture I drew in my algebra class. (Anyone else see a trend here?) It's of an igloo with a sign that says Mobile Unit 2 and then a picture of my teacher is in an eskimo outfit writing on the board with his warm breath creating steam in the crazy cold air. Feel free to applaud or send money.

Today was good and I'm glad that I haven't had a bad day yet. I'm always tired by 2:15 but, hey, I'd rather be tired and happy then unhappy and full of energy any day. Anyways, today after school Mariah drove us over to Caitlin's and we hung out with her and Savannah. We ate and did homework and listened to music and watched 17 Again. It was nice and girly and high schooly and what not. I also had fun playing with Cait's Mac. I really really would enjoy a Mac laptop. Birthday? Christmas? Think about it.

Wow, no more mandatory blogging. How weird. I'm half happy and yet there is a bitter tang to this. What will I read? (Saying this, knowing I forgot to take Caitlin's Sarah Dessen books home.) So, yall better post or I will just miss it waaayyyy too much.

Say Mariah, maybe we can go have some fun at that thrift store then pick up the books one day? Sounds great to me.

I'm tired-surprise surprise so I need to go do my devotionals and wash my face and then get some sleep! I love you all!

Obligatorily yours,
Mikaella

Beauty, Blogging

Those are just a few pictures I took this afternoon because the sun looked enchanting and glorious. I love nature :D

Speaking of pictures-I was thinking about how our BEDA endeavor ends in 2 days and how even when it does I'll probably want to blog anyway. It crossed my mind that maybe we could try something else. I was thinking something along the lines of only blogging when we want but each blog must have a correlating picture? Any other ideas? Hope so.

Uhm, so, today mostly some chillaxing and chick flick watching. Church tomorrow! Love you!

What could you do with a...

empty blog post and nothing in your head? I'll give you pictures!

Add Image
Hey! Look! It's me! Today!

This is the fall play being performed at the high school that I get more and more excited about the more I read it. It seems really dynamic and fun. I have dibs on Brenda. She's a lady who works at the main character, Iuean's, work. It's the Documentation Department Office. She's very loud, and sarcastic, and she answers phones. Sounds magnificent. An example:

Brenda: Half of it is no dang good! I need the whole thing. What a moron. I don't care if you've only been there three days just fix it.

Brenda: (Without looking up) What?!? (Sees Iuean) Oh. Hi Iuean.

Magical, neh? I'd really like it. So, finger's crossed for auditions.

This little gem here is something I drew in algebra as I was out of my mind bored. It signifies how in that class 12 o'clock always seems to be late coming and always seems to be the most important thing to us. Getting out of there and getting lunch. So, I thought it was pretty and a good representation of our pain. Haha.

I meant to post this up last night but was so knackered by 11 that I just had to cave in. I feel so old.

Today I woke up and cleaned some and now I'm just lazily doing homework and reading and stuff. Fun fun. It really is lovely to be able to relax. Like really.

Added Bonus! Pig auditions are Sept 2 from 2:30-5. Yikes!

Joy, I has it

Today was a pretty great day! I'm not sure why; maybe because we did more in classes. Or it could be because I got good sleep or liked my hair or that the moons were aligned! For whatever reason, I was in a good mood and it just made everything better. :D

We did our dance things in theatre and though I am not extremely great, I did have an extremely great time. I really love that class and spending time with people in there. Bethany and Lole are both quiet but both fun to be around. Also it's nice to mingle with some older people just so I don't feel like the plague. I know how uncool I am, and I probably will stay that way, but hey, that's not because I'm a freshman. That's just me. Haha, and I'll probably always be a spazz in there because it's right after lunch and I am like literally buzzing with energy.

Some random teacher lady told me she liked my hair today as we were walking out. That was nice. Not nice enough to overcome the death that is walking with a heavy bookbag down to the parking lot and getting into the steaming hot car that I seriously think may kill me one day. It just zaps all your energy, like-KASHAM! I'm glad I didn't nap this afternoon though so right now I'm still moderately tired and I'll be able to go to bed at a reasonable time.

School really has stuck me in schedule mode. For the most part I like it and I'm like, "Thanks brain for working that out for me so that I get everything done. I would pat you on the back if you weren't in my head." but I'm also like, "Wow, my life is one dull routine of this, then that, then do that other thing. What am I living for?" Then I remember my awesome friends and family and the cool stuff I do in my down time-so no worries.

Pray for a friend of mine going through a real transition in her life. That's all I have for now. Love ya!

-whispers- "I have opinions."

Today in Theatre we had to do a name learning actvity where we had to say our name then make up a little dance move. Then everyone else had to say our name and do our little dance move.We went around the circle and added people on and did all their moves and stuff.

This one guy, who I believe is called Donelle, but likes Jay better, tried to get us to do this one move and I think it's called the jerk. If you watch the video it's the part where it looks like they are skipping backwards. It looks cool and like Chessa can do it and she's extremely white but she is also a dancer and extremely great at everything. I attempted it, and had a bit of fail going on. Haha.

Chessa did the train ( it's like, you take your arms and bend them by your sides and then move your arms and body in a sort of circle as to signify the movement of a train. Yeah, I know, you've seen it done or done it yourself before.) with her name and this guy Daniel has fun with that. Making it far more sexual than necessary. I have the feeling he will continue with that sort of humor.

But by and large (what does that even mean?), I love theatre because even though it isn't going to be all about goofing off it is very free and open and we can spread our wings a bit.

Also, recently after starting school, and hey, most of my life, I've dealt with/been under authority figures. One little piece of advice that I cannot stress enough is that if you expect respect you must reflect respect! (Say it, 5x fast, c'mon, you know you want to.) If you come in ripping and roaring and telling the people under you exactly what they are going to do because you said so, half the people there will either roll they're eyes, make that little pft noise, or start to despise you-if not openly, or out loud, in their heads at least. You need to show them that even though they are under you and you have a small amount of control over their lives that doesn't make them less important, or less of a person.

Also, teachers, parents, principles, and others who are in charge of pupils/ or anyone in charge of people younger than you: Most of us should or do know we are not as smart as you! (There is an occasional exception but even if you have a person with an amazing IQ they are probably not as smart when it comes to- common sense, life lesson, and life experience. And of course those kids who do believe they know everything, but that is quickly dis-proven.) There is no need to enforce this idea. We know. BUT, you shouldn't hold it against us that we are young, that we don't know everything, that we may not have that much common sense, and we don't have an abundance of experience. "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe."1 Timonthy 4: 12

So, we may need discipline, we may need pointers, but in no way are we not people, or not important, or unintelligent. Just so you know.

Well then, high school.

The reason I got up this morning was because I couldn't get my text messages unless I disabled my alarm. So I was awoken at 5:30 on the dot and got up and pulled on my robe and got some coffee and then started to get ready. Mariah came into the bathroom while I was washing my face with my "Wake Up" playlist on speakers. "I'm a high schooler." I think I said, or something like that. "Yep." or "I know." she said.

I like listening to music because it really does wake me up. It was good this morning because my dad had turned on the hall and living room and kitchen lights so it seemed like day time. Sometimes when I wake up and haven't gotten enough sleep my stomach quivers like I might just throw up. I had none of that this morning. Hopefully I will be able to get enough sleep to where I don't have to deal with that.

I was done getting all ready around 6:30 and spent the rest of time on the computer. I got a Farmville. (Don't judge.) So I messed around with that a bit for the fun of it. We headed out around 6:45, which we should do every morning and got there early enough for me to mill around with some other freshies.

I don't feel like a freshman. I don't feel like anything really.

Anyways,
Homeroom: Deal
Mrs/Ms. Deal seemed nice and she was a pretty lady. A nice voice and not abrasive. It was death quiet in there part tiredness and part first week no talk-ism. She handed out things to be signed and helped people out who needed to know how to get to classes they weren't sure about the location of. So, nice. I knew most people in there.
First period: Andersen
Mrs. Andersen teaches Honors World History. She seems a bit eccentric and is a very hyperish person. She reminds me of Mrs. Hardin, the Bible teacher. She divided the room where girls were on one side and boys were on the other to make an example of how women used to not have equal rights. She also passed out papers and such to them first. Overall I think I'll like her but I also think I'll find myself rolling my eyes at her antics and ways of doing things. It's also really cold in her room.
Second period: Hubbared
Mr.Hubbared was not there today for my P.E. class so we got the spiel from a man who I can only remember as Mr.VK. I figured out that I know a few people in my class and I get to have Health first. I am relived at this because it means I can experience P.E. after it gets a little chillier. I don't like health or p.e. Bleh.
Third Period: Karrants
Mr.Karrants in Eeyore. He said so himself. He is my algebra teacher. If that man has emotions I sure can't find them. He never smiles and his smilie faces are circles with dots and a straight line. He has a very dry sense of humor. He says he isn't a great teacher. He talked about himself the most out of all my teachers. He said he started off as an engineer because that's what a test told him to do but he didn't really like it. Then he became a teacher, he doesn't really like that either. I have a feeling I may struggle in that class as it takes people who are interested in what they teach to make me interested in what they teach. It's cold in that class too, and he talks to quiet, and I think it might be haunted because today the power cut out two times and then came back on. For the most boring teacher I think I may ever have, he sure is interesting.
Fourth period: Rasslert
I kind of feel inclined to call her "The Rasst" I wonder if she'd mind. Fourth period is by far my favorite class of the day and will probably continue to be so. My classmates seem like an interesting mix and I have the class with Chessa,Christina, Lole, and Bethany. I also have it with a senior named Josie who Mariah knows. She looks like a 6th grader. =p At the beginning of the class we did a roll call thing where we stood up, said our name, and our favorite color. Then the class copied us, clapped, and we sat back down. (Mikaella, dark purple. Mikaella, dark purple. -clap-) Then we wrote in our journal/reflection thinger majig. We were supposed to write about the quote "Just say the lines and don't trip over the furniture." by Noel Coward. She was very open minded about what we could write. Or we could just draw pictures. It just had to somehow correlate to the quote. It was fun. Then we played 'get ta know ya' games.

After school I talked to Cody and Nick for a bit then I told Mariah about my day in the car. So it was a lot of the same with rules and things to be signed but it wasn't terrible. I hope for the best for tomorrow as well.

So, Last Day of Freedom...What did you do?

I'll tell ya what I did!
Haha.

So I woke up around 11 and texted Mariah and we had a little conversation because we didn't feel the need to get up yet. I asked her what the game plan for today was and we agreed on breakfast, movie, library, lunch, chores. I don't think we actually had any lunch..Hmm.

We got up and messed around for a while and then I made us a fantastic breakfast. Despite my avoidance of most cooking I make an exception when it comes to breakfast. We had vegetarian bacon (and a sausage patty for Mariah),scrambled eggs, half an orange and orange juice. It was wonderful and scrumptious and amazing.

We watched Treasure Planet because I figured out the main character's voice was done by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a.k.a the beautiful man who stars in (500) Days of Summer and 10 Things I Hate About You. It really is a great movie and really made me want one of these. It had action, it had suspense, it had romance, and it had handsome animated characters.Mariah and I enjoyed it and laughed a lot and were very satisfied with the choice.

When there was about 30 minutes left we paused to go and turn some books back in at the library. When I got back into the car mother called and re-directed us towards Cloverleaf shopping center to look for some belts since Mariah wanted some. I ended up getting a black belt (haha, black belt) and some eyeshadow. Mariah got a new teil scarf and some black flats. We stylin' and profiling. Haha,I just said that.

When we got back home we finished up the movie and did some chores. I still need to mop as my mother has reminded me. Rawr.

I mopped. It looks pretty nice. =] Now I'm all hotttttt now.

I'm Sorry

At the moment I'm trying to weed through my iTunes to delete those songs that I always skip when they come up on my iPod. But in doing this I only have seemed to fall deeper in love with The Beatles. Some people, including my family-the traitors, think Beatles music is good..when sung by other people. I find that it is eloquent and excellent in it's original and unadulterated form.

Maybe This Makes Sense

I clicked on this link, posted by wheezywaiter. I was outraged because I thought it was supposed to have something to do with this show. I was wrong. This is the trailer having to do with that show. Which reminds me of this song. Most of those things excite me. :D

Today Mariah picked me up from Madi's around 11:30 and after a slight detour back to retrieve my iPod, we went home. After arriving back home, very tired and very unenthusiastic about most everything I decided that I was under the weather. In a very serious way. So I thought it would be best if I not go and meet relatives as I might have scared them away or harvested their organs. Just saying. Mariah and my father may complain, but hey, a girls got to do what a girls got to do. When I say girl, I mean young, mature adult. When I say got to do, I mean eat like a pig and read Maureen Johnson's blog and sleep for an hour and a half. Oh, and I've had some fluids as well. Hopefully I will feel much better before school starts or else I will be making first impressions with a look of mild disgust and pain on my face and my knife ready for all those organs. Not that I'm a naturally mean person. Just that at times like these, I should be left to myself and away from sunlight.

Tonight I've helped out my mom a bit with some of her friend's kid's while her friend is studying for something having to do with insurance. The kids are cute and I think my mom is enjoying spending some time with them. It's the way mom's are with the whole, "They were so cute and small and adorable and smelled like heaven and baby wipes and freesia. I remember when you were that age. You were so cute. I remember that you would..." and so on.

JUST FOR YOU CAITLIN!
Okay, drug.dealer.pants. I want to say right up front that I do not sell drugs and I do not endorse the selling of drugs.I do, in fact, as you may have noticed on a few occasions, wear pants though.

Once upon a time I was going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for an educational trip with my 8th grade class. In preparation for that trip I decided that I needed some sweat pants that I could put over other pants. As I knew I would no doubt be cold and also want to be comfortable on the way there, riding in a bus.

So my mother and I traipsed over to Walmart one day and looked for some. All the ones in the girls section were too thin and had no pockets and were all trend and no substance. So we went over to the guys section where I found some real sweat pants. They were dark red, almost like the color of dried blood. They had enormous pockets and they were long and fuzzy and wonderful. So we bought them.

Upon putting on said pants I realized I kind of looked like the type who would stand in a shady alleyway and hand you a bag of the good stuff if you spotted me a 50. By good stuff I mean overpriced ice cream and by 50 I mean 5. Of course. (But how would you keep ice cream in your pants, Mikaella?!? There is no cooling mechanism in your pants! That makes no sense. It made more sense when you were talking about drugs.) Of course it did!

That's why I call them my drug dealer pants and not my overpriced ice cream pants. See how that makes sense?

Obviously my lack of other things to do and general craziness mixed with the death that I am experiencing turns into semi-interesting things. Who knew? So, that's all I have to say, love you! BAI!

The Lake- circa 6th/7th grade

The Lake
Tonight the rain is falling

into the lake.

The tender haze rests on top

of the dark majestic water.

The droplets of rain land on the lake,

making a pattern

Then slowly join the flow.

The trees seem to bend in reverence to the black sky.

Though no stars shine,

no stars are needed

For the darkness defines itself.

I Was Oriented

Today I went to my freshie orientation. I was kind of frustrated the whole time and also kind of disoriented. (Ha ha. Get it?) Mariah led me and my mom around since she knew where everthing was. I have PE second period first semester! Ick! So I'll already be hot and sweaty and then I'll have to quick change so I can make it all the way across campus to the trailers for algebra. Grrr. I have a basic idea of where I'm supposed to go but I still have anxiety about it. It all seems super big and serious and crap. My science teacher seems like a fun guy but he misspelled Jeopardy. He spelled it Jeoprady. That's how he said it too. Bugged the heck out of me the whole time he was giving his spiel.

Now I'm at Madi's house because I really wanted to hang out with her before school started. -like shiver- Goshers, I don't want school to come. Leave me alone! We have been playing Boogie Superstar, so basically just doing like karaoke singing stuff. It's fun. :) I love talking to her because she always gets what I mean. I love you Madi!

I'm wearing my drug dealer pants and hanging out in in her living room.

I have nothing else to say! Love ya!

Roxy

Have you ever been listening to your iPod and you get this run of songs that are just so perfect together even when you aren't listening to a playlist? Or when you think about a song you'd really like to listen to and then it comes up next? Those things happen to me all the time! I've decided it's because my iPod loves me so much and likes to please me. I decided to name it Roxy. It deserves a cool name since it's lovely. ( I got it in June and it's a new purple nano.)

Just a thought of mine.

I also realized that I have 16 posts for this month and that I've posted twice on a day atleast once, which means I've skipped 3 days. I kind of want to make up for that just so I can feel good when it gets to the 31st and I have 31 posts. It would just feel like more of an accomplishment.A bit crazy. Don't judge me.

Currently listening to: Mrs.Nerimon by Christina Horner from her and Luke Conard's album SONGS IN THE KEY OF E-MAIL. ^-^

We're supposed to be babysitting tonight but I think the people bailed on us. Odd.

Am I really this boring? Oh, right, yeah, definately.

This morning my father got me up around 9 and I stayed up. I think that's a good start. I've been meaning to go to bed earlier and get up earlier each night/morning but so far I haven't done too well on the nighttime part. 10,11,12.

We went to go see the movie 500 Days of Summer which I've been salivating over since I saw some trailers on youtube and then continued to watch any bit of video I could find about it. It lived up to my expectations and there was also more than I expected. If you plan to see it don't go with a mindset of a feel good film. It's really heavy, but it's also really real. Also the main guy also starred in 10 Things I Hate About You. (What's with this guy and number titles?) So as that movie is one of my favorites it really piqued my attention. :) Go and listen to the soundtrack, as it is amazing.

Mariah and I went to Target this afternoon with our mother and she bought me some new shoes and a shirt. I still need some pants but pants shopping is just a pain.

Too often I'm being reminded of August 25th. Just as much as I try to ignore it, even more quickly it approaches. It's not even real to me. I mean, well, obviously this helped. But still. -moanymoanmoan- Summer forever and infinite knowledge without the early morning or the homework-SIGN ME UP.

I was thinking that maybe for the first week I would wear some different personas just to mess with peoples heads. Like Monday-Prep Tuesday-skater Wednesday-emolicious Thursday-uberreligiousgeekface and then Friday I would come as me. Sounds like loads of fun but Mariah doesn't encourage it. Most things Mariah doesn't encourage are borderline bad idea but some turn out good. I don't think I have all the clothes for all those though. Hmm.

SHOUT OUTS
Caitlin- I love you and you're amazing and I loved talking and laughing with you and even though I know I'm the annoying little sister I hope I can hang out with you and Mariah again soon.
Mariah-Thankyou for laughing at exactly the same times I did in the theater. :)
Chris- I belive you are napping at the moment because you felt bad. I hope you feel better. We need to watch movies together. Arty movies that are cool and fun and amazing. Please click this. Reminded me a lot of Mozart and the Whale.

Home Again Home Again Jiggity Jig

Last night on our drive home we stopped and I got Chinese food. My fortune cookie read "An unexpected visitor will bring you good blessings." So, I'm down for that.

I got back from the beach around 11:45-12 last night and I was pretty tired. The ride very uncomfortable seeing as we had more to take back than what we brought. For a majority of the time I was sitting crosslegged on top of pillows and covers and what not. My legs and butt were so thankful when I finally got out of the car at my house. Remind me to not do that again. Ouch! Also, Samuel wasn't very happy so he ended up disrupting my sleep.

I had an amazing time and I loved it all but I'm seriously happy to be home. I know my family missed me, as they keep telling me so. :) I bought some fudge for my parents and a cute little picture framed sand dollar for Mariah. (Mariah loved her gift but sadly, my dad is on a diet.)

Today I woke up around 11 and have been chilling and helping outside some. When I was out there I found a little visitor in our garden. Very pretty.

Well, get ready for less action packed blogs and more musings now that I'm back home. Love ya!

The Crow That Wouldn't Let Go-A short story by Mikaella

Once upon a time our troop was heading out for putt-putt. As we exited the lobby doors we spotted a black as black crow on the road. The crow was flapping it's dark wings as the other crows watched from above.
"What happened?" asked Kortni.
"The thing just flew into the car garage." said the doorman.
We watched for a few seconds longer.
"We would help it but we're not supposed to touch them." said another worker.
"I can!" said Kortni as we walked towards the bird.
We told the others to go on as we ran to aid the injured crow.
"What if he bites?" said Kortni.
"I know," I said "that's what I'm worried about."
I carefully reached around his small black body and held onto his feet. He grabbed one pinkie in each clawed foot and held on as we walked over to the bushes.
"He's holding on." I said.
"Aw,that's sweet." Kortni said.
I set him down in the pine needles and tried to shake him off but he had a firm grip on me.
"Go on little buddy. Now you're safe,"I said. "Come on.....get...off..." I said as I tried to pull free.
"What is he doing?" Kortni asked.
I continued to shake and prod the little fellow but he just sat tight and resisted. Kortni started gently pulling on his feet but as she pulled he gripped tighter.
"Crap, oww.." I said as I stared down at him.
We kept struggling and prodding and pulling but Kortni couldn't get him to let go.
"We need to get like a big strong man or something." I said, yeling every now and then as the crow tightened his grip on my tiny fingers.
Finally we pulled my fingers free after much trying and loosening. We left him sitting where he was. He sat still, in shock we supposed, as we ran on to the parking garage.

We named him Jeffery. Or I did at least. Most of this morning was spent sleeping for me and Kortni because we didn't feel like getting up to eat breakfast. Then at around 1 we were heading out for the mini golfing. We had a good time and I made up for my lack of picture taking. It was dinosaur themed. :)

We also went to a shop called the Gay Dolphin where I bought things that I won't tell you about. Hehe. That place was a maze! I took a lot of pictures there as well.

Then we ate some spagetti and walked down the the pier since I had never been to the pier. I made Kortni jog there with me and she's not too happy about that this morning. Haha.

I meant to post this up yesterday but me and Kortni stayed out on the balcony talking for like 2 hours or something like that. Which was lovely but then around 1 I stopped being very coherent..so we went to bed.

Breathe In, Breathe Out

We've* noticed that a lot of girls at the beach are very snobby and all about themselves all the time. We also noticed that that's the type of girls who attract all the attention from guys. Why is that? I think maybe it's confidence. Even if it's fake confidence;fake confidence worn by unnatractive girls. Something about how they act. I could never do that though. It's kind of like breathing in a huge breath and holding it there. For a second it feels nice and good, but then it just gets uncomfortable and makes you want to let it all out. Then you breathe out and feel relieved and better. That's how it should be just an equal balance of in and out so you can be yourself and not look so unnatural, not make your face turn purple with the trying so hard.

That's just a mini-rant.
We may be going places later but for now it's raining so we're stuck in the room. love ya!

* I say we because most of the tme me and Kortni talk about things together/do things together/you get the point.

No! No! No! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I WILL HURT YOU!!

This morning me and Kortni were woken to go to paint on sand dollars around 10:30. There was a lady who was coordinating activities and there were things like water balloon tossing and water games and tye dye what not. I ended up painting a little wooden snake and taking forever to paint it. (It's purple and black and white.)

After some other games where we chaperoned the girls, Alexandra and Adrianna, we decided to go up to the room and get dressed and put on makeup to go out to eat later while everyone else was at the beach. We got all dressed up in our matching "Vegetarian Vampire" shirts and supervised while the girls did the balloon toss and then in chairs by the indoor pool.

It just happened that we met this boy Blake at the beach and then he followed us to the pool. Then of course we had to tell him not to splash because "We preffered to not get wet in our clothes." So, obviously, of course, almost as the necessary and completely natural reaction, Blake started splashing us. A lot. So, then, I threw his towel in the pool. Then, he took said towel and chased me and then got my whole entire front soaked. So, I was pretty unhappy. Then he chased Kortni around while I sat in my chair pouting. In the end Kortni jumped into the pool in all her clothes to tackle Blake. Then when I walked over to laugh at her Shane pulled me in.... So that's the story of how me and Kortni both ended up in the pool completely clothed. After that we were just getting thrown in and getting back out over and over. Fun stuff.

Later on we went out to eat and to get groceries. We went like an hour and a half to get to this place called Tony's. I had some cheese bread stick things and then some fetticini alfredo noodles. It was good. =] The grocery store was fun and we ran around and picked stuff up and talked about stuff and tried to avoid all the beguiling beef jerky. (xD) But we got waffles, and hot chocolate, and gushers, and fruit roll ups, and yoohoo. Funfunfunfunfun. (Gosh, I would get excited about food.)

So, anyways, Blake is nice and he hung out with us for a while tonight then him and Shane ditched us for a walk on the beach in the moonlight...together.... (Naw, they have some girl who lookes 9 but is actually 14.) He's 14 and Shane is 16. Shane thinks we are stalkers. I think we might be. Also, I have an inkling that Shane might be real, seeing as I can touch him and my finger doesn't go all the way through or dissappear or anything funky like that. Also he tried to tickle me and pulled me in and all that. So my imagination doesn't do that. Unless I have a weird realistic Fight Clubesque thing going on. But maybe Kortni would tell me? Or is she...also...? Well, now I'm questioning reality and coming up with conspiracy theories so....enough.

After we got back we put up the groceries then hung out at the pool for a while and now I'm back in the room trying to use a bathing-suit coverup as a nightie because I didn't feel like wearing pants. Yay. So we're watching The Nanny and eating and general stuck-in-the-room-for-the-night stuff. Nothing else of interest! Love ya!

P.S-Kortni says hi. ANDDD! Chris might/is/uhm..I think will be starting a blog so he can write about me and embarass me. Naw,I kid. I dunno. He's a fantastic writer and some day that's how he will make all dat cash.

Honey in the Sun

At the moment I am standing down in a room by the lobby at a computer. These computers don't have seats. I believe it's so people don't hog them, but it makes me angry. D=

So, I did have innienet connection yesterday but I also completely forgot as I had places to do and people to see.

So far on this lovely trip I'm doing good-but burnt at the moment on my face and trying to sleep on a pull out bed with 9 and 7 year olds. Woohoo! I'm constantly hungry but when we go out to eat I eat far too much and make my stomach ache. I ahven't taken any real beachy pictures because I haven't felt like carrying around my camera.Kortni and I met a boy named Shane who we think might be a figment of our imagination, and I think he lives on floor 15. I also think he looks more like a James or a Keith. He's nice, but as I said-he doesn't exist in the real world.

I've been given the nickname "inchworm" by Kortni because of how I always inch into the water since it's either hot or cold. It's kind of nice having a nickname-but it's also extremely true that I'm slow to warm...or cold...or whatever.

Today we went-OUCH! My ankle jsut popped from standing here like I am, feeling the masterful hotel strategy at work-to look at some beach shops, the ones that are always going out of business and all sell the same little yellow and white sundress at 15 dollars. I've looked for presents for people and I almost bought a bracelet for Chris, but it looked like it would come unclasped really easily. But otherwise I would have, he needs something for his wrist. We saw little baby turtles and I always want them when I go but they smell and our little room doesn't need that.

I've been reading a book titled, "Feeling Sorry for Celia" by Jaclyn Moriarty (sp?)it's insanely good and exactly in her style. Read that, and her other books. They wrap you in their arms and hold onto you till the very last page. I'm almost done with it because I've spent some time out on the balcony reading and watching the birds.I like to watch the people come in and out. Some just sit and watch, some come out and tidy up and hang towels and look busy, others jsut talk or drink.

I really have nothing insightful or important to say! I miss my Bay, and my boy,my bed, and my family.

Driving, Headphones, and Wish List

Mariah got her license semi-recently and since then we've gone off every single day. It's kind of odd being in the car with just her, having my life in her steering-wheel glued hands. It's fun though, her the queen of the pedal and me the supreme changer of the tunes. We make a good team and I think we'll have some nice times in that little red car. =D

We drove up to Carolina Mall just to get out of the house. She bought a book (In the book store we saw this guy walking with his mom and as he passed he said, "Chick flicks. I ONLY WATCH chick flicks.)" I swear. It was golden., I bought headphones (they're skull candy brand and they block out sound well and make lovelyness), we tried on perfumes and what not at bath and body and saw a couple people we knew. (Including Savannah.) Then we rode on over to Starbucks where I treated us to drinks and little rice krispy marshmallow delightful dream things. We sat there and had our food and pretended to be cultured, mature, and the types who would hang out in a coffee shop. We also eaves-dropped on the people around us talking about the economy and Russia.

As we were shopping I thought about all the wonderful things I would like to have. Most of these you can't buy at the mall or don't make much sense. Enjoy!

The Christian Base System

The other night Chris asked me if I knew what the base system was. I told him I had a pretty good idea but had heard it different ways. We ended up finding it ourselves but neither of us liked what we found and thought the whole thing was childish and kind of stupid.

But as that was on my mind, I was thinking of how in most Christian relationships the "base system" doesn't apply. So, I came up with the Christian base system, consisting of,

1st-Holding Hands
2nd-Kissing
3rd-Marriage

Really, it is that much of a jump, or should be, in a Christian relationship. Both parties should be getting to know each other personally and spiritually and should be committed to one another before they try to learn about each other physically.

On that note, here are some of my guy standards that I dug out of my future book. (The book in which I have written baby names and places I want to go and things I want to do, etc.) I wrote these a while back (around 12? 13?), but hey, a girl knows what she wants.

  1. personality/beliefs
  • Christian-strong conviction
  • sensible
  • funny
  • witty
  • smart but humble
  • loving-passionate-faithful
  • energetic
  • morning person
  • able to dance
  • mysterious-interesting
  • handy
  • creative-artistic
  • devoted
  • pure
  • mature
  • compassionate-love for others
2. looks
  • taller than me
  • pretty eyes
  • strong but not overly so-abs
  • nice hair-not perfect
  • fullish lips
So, those are some of my wants/needs in a guy since I told Mariah I might post some of mine too and these subjects seemed to go together. Thanks for reading. <3

Ahem. Will Ms.Bruce please report to the principles' office?

You know what I mean.
Missing Caitlin's blog as she is currently very tired and unable to do so. Love you!

So, at the start of this year I made a resolution to be healthier this year, as I am a teenager and do need to start thinking about what I put into my body and what not. I haven't done very well with the whole going to sleep early and waking up early side of things but I have done pretty well when it comes to drinking more water and exercising.

At the moment I have 12 Dasani bottles on my desk, all empty. Which is good! Water is good for the body and skin and I hope to keep it up as it is a fairly easy step towards health. Earlier in the summer I was doing better with the exercising while trying to shape my stomach for swimsuits.I still go for walks that turn into jogs that turn into walks and end with runs occasionally though.[=

Hopefully when the school year starts I can get into a good flow and routine. That's one thing I sort of like about school; it gives me the need to structure and organize my life.

Any music suggestions would be lovely as I'm heading for Myrtle Beach this coming week and I want to load up on some upbeat sounds for the trip. I'm going with my friend Kortni, her mother, a friend of their family and her kids. It sounds like a good time and I'm ready to get a touch up on my tan before school starts once more and spend some time with Kortni since I haven't seen her much this summer.I am a bit homesick at times for my bed and my Bay and my cell phone service.. but I'm going to try to have so much fun I won't even notice..much.

I always love to spend time in the ocean, where it's so free and open. Kind of feels like home to me. Someday, when I'm a rich and sucessful psychologist(SLASH!)writer/singer/poet/artist/actress/photographer I will build my 5 story house near the beach so I can stand out on my balcony and feel the ocean breeze and see the seaside stars shine. Nothing would make me happier. Okay, well, maybe sitting in my hot tub and seeing the seaside stars shining. (say5timesfast.idareyou.)

Anyways, lovelies, it's 12:56 and the boyfriend is in bed so I might as well get some rest myself.

This is the blog where I tell you things that I like and complain. But you'll love it. ;D

So, those two things, the shirt and book bag, are new! Shopping for school stuff, and shopping in general, stresses me out. Luckily I was able to find some lovely clothing so I may whine and complain but it was worth it. Mariah also found some things, but I'm sure she will tell you about that.:)

Anyways, on a less whiny and poor-me-I-had-to-shop note, I started watching Drop Dead Diva on mylifetime.com tonight. I had been wanting to see the show after it was advertised but then lost hope when we didn't have the channel. Then, tonight, Chris reminded me about it because he has watched a few episodes. It's an amazing show with a really good heart to it. Kind of like Ugly Betty and Eli Stone had a baby and it's equal, fantastic parts of them. So, I recommend it and endorse it fully.

Also, some new music I've picked up that I would like to share for those with softer music tastes: Gimme Sympathy-Metric, Forever-Walter Meego, Sweet Disposition-The Temper Trap. Owl City is also really good. The interesting thing about their/his ( I never know which to say) music is that it's very upbeat and pretty but also smooth and relaxing enough to sleep to. Very fun.

I'm sorry if yer not the poemy type because so far I've done blogs and poems alternately. I'm not sure if I'll keep that up but it's a possibility. I was very into poetry from 6th-7th and I still have a love for it but I haven't had much thought of sitting down and writing. I like critiques though, so I'm cool if you have any.

Um,de-dummmm. I think that's all I have for now but to say goodbye I want to give you a little gift, right here. Please inform me if you find yourself singing it or have it stuck in your head. Muhahah. ^-^

Mariah has sensitive ears.
She hears through the walls.
She silences my music.

Father has acquired tastes.
He watches boy shows.
He controls the remote.

Mommy has expressive eyes.
She tells me all she has to say.
She never says a word.

Mikaella has an active mind.
She can't rest.
She roams in the silence.

Death,Dreams, and Darn I Forgot to do it,didn't I?

So, yesterday, I felt like death. Like, literally. (No,probably figuratively, but it's much more fun to be dramatic.) Church was lovely and I enjoyed seeing Leah and Allison. But after not getting much sleep the night before thanks to my crazy and then going to see grandparents and then going back to church, I was pretty dang tired. So after getting home on a Sunday night I couldn't even read, or get on aim like I had previously promised.I just went into my room, shoved the this and that off my bed, and sacked out. My stomach was in agony and my back hurt for no known reason and I had a headache. Sleep felt very very nice. I do feel much better now though. Thanks for asking.

This morning after going to bed at 9:30, a time I would have previously scoffed at, I awoke at 11:11 to some odd recollections of dreams. Here are just a few random things I can recall.
  • In this dream, my cousin Tori was pregnant. Oh my goodness. And she was like, her actual age. Is was weird as heck. -shudder-
  • At one point I was looking at my old iPod and it was coming back to life! But then when I touched it it died again.. and this girl,Victoria, from church was there.
  • I was a witch who lived in this weird hollow in the woods with these other wood nymph/witch type things.
  • While I was a woodwitch there were these like potato sacks with words that were floating down the creek thing at our hollow. So you would jump onto a sack and the words would become your life. Apparently my new life included having an evil stepmom who was a spider, who lived with my stepgrandma, who was also evil, in this weird shack thing that was super creepy ( It was covered in dust and spider webs and dead bodies. Oh gosh...how does my subconscious come up with this stuff?), who wouldn't allow me to do things.
  • At one point my whole family was racing across a lake on this bridge that was more like a net and it didn't reach all the way across. So they would lay it out there and you would run like crazy on it and it would start to sink beneath you and once you got to where it ended you just had to swim to the pier.
  • Also, I was on a boat with some people and the good guys-who were like, me and Leah and I think Chris was there-were trying to steal something from this room that the bad guys, let's jsut call em' baddies, were in. And we would get past all the security and one time Leah got all the way in the room, but then the baddies would spot one of us and we had to leave.
  • On the boat if you went out this one latched door near the baddies' room you could go out onto this deck above this huge pool and there was also a rock climbing wall. So at one point I was going down a rock climbing wall with some other people. It was odd.
  • I think Kortni and I were on a hotel bed talking at one time in the dream.
So yeah, my dreams are odd. They usually seem to stem from things I've been thinking about though. Like, I do have a cousin who is pregnant and Kortni wants me to go to the beach with her, and last week we were at the lake etc etc. I have no idea where the weird wood nymph stuff came from though. -le shrug- So I hope that sounds as interesting to you as it was to experience in my head.

I didn't exactly forget to do a blog yesterday-I was just out of ideas in the afternoon at my grandmother's house and then when I got back from church I was dead. I actually thought about it before I went to sleep. I'm surprised there wasn't a camio of a huge keyboard running after me trying to get me to type in my dream. Maybe while I was a nympitch, at my stepmom's creepy house? But in the future I will try to git 'er done. :D

Just For Kicks- I Chose Your Field

I chose your field for sitting
now im playing
now im walking
and im looking at the hand once so dearly occupied.

I chose your field for eating
and for sitting and for watching
and its kind of geting hot
watching the clouds go rolling by.

I chose your field for being
and for thinking
and for wishing
I chose it for the reasons no one would quickly spy.

I chose your field for running
in the open spaces
yes it seemed alright for frolicking
for dancing underneath sky.

I chose your field for reasons
oh the reasons
I wish to tell you
I chose your field just hoping maybe you would come outside.

SC Reunion Fun and a New Month (hasjustbegun)

Yarr matey! Wow, I'm not a pirate..Anyways, just recently got back from our second family reunion this summer. It was pretty great and fun but now I'm super tired from the traveling. This morning we got up around 9:30 and had some pancakes then picked up my little cousins Tori and Lexa so they could ride down in our van. Mariah and I read and listened to my iPod and slept mostly. Tori was out like a light shortly after a game of uno and Lexa, reluctantly followed. For a while she would turn around occasionally just to smile at us or tell us things. According to her she's getting her ears pierced, for her 10th birthday. They are growing up so fast and it makes me smile. About the time we were getting there I tried to go to sleep to no avail, but then was woken by the expectant air in the van. (That expectant air gets in my ears and makes me twinge a bit and wakes me up anytime we get someplace worth going.)

The reunion was at a little church down in SC someplace or the other. We walked in in a generally awkward fashion and made ourselves nametags. Then mother decided she wanted to show us around to people we haven't seen in a long time. "And these are my girls, Mariah and Mikaella." she would say, pointing to one of us in turn.I think she'll always say that, "my girls", even when Mariah is 25 and I'm 23, or some age around there, when most would find the term "women" suitable for our description.

We met and greeted and took some pictures and then prayer was said, and in true southern fashion, we ate. After the meal the girls and some other little ones were anxious to go outside on the playground equipment and seesaws. As it turns out, neither I or Mariah could remember a time when we had seesawed. So the children ran around as they do and we sat on a seesaw trying to see if we could balance out our weight. (And we did.) It was kind of muggy out but generally nice and we stayed for a while.

When the air conditioning was calling we came back inside and had our family picture made with my cousins and aunt and uncle and grandmother. Finally we all got the feeling it was time to leave and headed out around 2:30. Hugs were given and goodbye's said and I slept all the way home.

As for the start of August, let it come, I suppose. There's nothing I can do to stop it so I just won't try. The word August in and of itself makes me think of cookouts, a bit of chill in the air, new pencils and paper, haircuts and shopping for new school clothes. Not all of which I would mind. So, Happy August and welcome back to real life after Summer.
