The Lake
Tonight the rain is falling
Tonight the rain is falling
into the lake.
The tender haze rests on top
of the dark majestic water.
The droplets of rain land on the lake,
making a pattern
Then slowly join the flow.
The trees seem to bend in reverence to the black sky.
Though no stars shine,
no stars are needed
For the darkness defines itself.

The label is great. I liked the poem it seemed relaxing and flowed well.
ReplyDeleteMhm. I wrote it in a flurry. We were in the car on a dark rainy night and I saw the lake as we crossed a bridge and I yelled, "Turn on the light! I need a pen! I need to write!"
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!
